Walnut Street Bridge
If you want an iconic Chattanooga location for engagement photos, definitely consider the Walnut street walking bridge! this location is perfect for the couple who loves the blue of the Walnut street bridge, is ok with being around lots of other people out enjoying the city during their engagement session. It’s a busy place! On any given evening there can be the most beautiful sunset views from the Walnut street bridge. There’s paid parking available at Coolidge park on the Northshore side.

Chattanooga Choo Choo
The Chattanooga Choo Choo is a historic part of Chattanooga since before the civil war. The building and grounds still stand today with lots of improvements. Plus, if you love ice skating, go in the winter when they have an outdoor ice rink! Plus next door is Station Street with numerous bistro lights strung between buildings.

Point Park
Point Park features stunning views overlooking Chattanooga and surrounding area. Pont park is perfect for the couples who want to go out of the city but not too far, want a scenic adventure and want beautiful photographs of the Chattanooga area worthy to be hung on the walls. There are historical monuments commemorating the battle of Lookout mountain, walking paths and open lawns.

Hunter Museum of Art
The Hunter Museum of Art is right on Bluff View Ave.
Coolidge Park
Coolidge Park has so much variety, including open lawns, shaded walking paths, docks with iconic riverfront views of Chattanooga. Inside the blue roofed building in the park is the famous carousel with 52 hand carved antique animals. If you time it right, in the spring you can catch the cherry and peach blossoms.
It is also part of the Tennessee Riverwalk, a 13-mile long public greenway that runs along the Tennessee River – from the Southern Belle Riverboat to Chickamauga Dam.

Sunset Rock
The best kept secret in Chattanooga. At sunset thirty you can catch some of the best sunset views in Chattanooga. It’s a great place to go if you want to dress up, don’t want to hike but want a beautiful view of Chattanooga and a lot of nature. The parking lot is small so car pooling in highly recommended. The neighbors mean business, they’ll have you towed if you park anywhere not in the parking lot.

Chattanooga Riverwalk

Riverwalk is accessible for an after a date night dinner for a nighttime session or daytime.

The Cravens House
Is located partway up Lookout mountain in Chattanooga and is part of the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park

Edwards Point
This is a bit of a hike, as in be prepared to hike for an hour. Yes, this is a commitment. And then you have to hike back too. You’ll probably arrive all sweaty, need to bring pretty clothes to wear for photos. And be ok with changing out in the woods. but if you like a little bit of adventure, trees, a little water and a beautiful view when you get to the top! Consider an engagement session at Edwards Point!
Where to park: The parking lot at the Rainbow lake trailhead.

Signal Point
This park has an overlook right near the parking lot for those not up for a whole adventure. Also, if you pack hiking shoes, you can head down the Cumberland trail a little ways, you will come to an outstanding overlook. From this spot you can see Edwards point and the Tennessee River.

Stringer’s Ridge
Has a nice view of Chattanooga skyline and is only 2 miles from downtown!

Little Debbie Park Ooltewah

Bathrooms on site. This place is very popular with littles and families on weekends.

Locations to propose in Chattanooga
Planning to propose gets a little tricky, you usually have to pick a proposal location she can get to dressed for a date and not a hike. I’ve sorted out my top picks with pros and cons at each location.

Paley Terrace at the Hunter museum
pros:
- Downtown
- easy to plan a date night to dress up for
- can walk to Whisky thief for drinks
Cons:
- Very popular place on the weekends
- There may be a lot of tourists and locals enjoying the space too.

- The park closes at dusk, so in the winter it closes early

Coolidge Park

pros:
- Lots of space to find a secluded spot for a proposal on
- great for dinner date after a walk in the park
- nearby parking
- View back towards Lookout mountain ad the Aquarium
Cons:
Some weekends there are huge events at Coolidge Park.

Signal Point Park
Pros:
- Amazing views that Chattanooga is famous for
- great photos
- Lots of nature
Cons:
- hiking is involved, the trail can be muddy and steep
- small space, could be crowded with other people

Cloudland Canyon
State park with 5.00 parking fee.
It’s a lot of stairs to get down to the water falls. Bring hiking shoes. The overlooks on top do not need hiking to get to.
