When a Godox V1 Hot shoe breaks
Just before a sparkler exit my Godox V1 flash fell and landed on the floor! The flash’s hot shoe was partially broken, it now wobbled on the camera a little tipsy. Everything worked and we finished the day. We were good to go Or so I thought….
The next day the flash worked but would not control my off camera lighting. I figured I needed to buy a new Flash, it is what it is sometimes.
Buy a new Godox V1 flash or Repair the hot shoe?
I checked with Tim Payne of FlashGear.net before I ordered a whole new flash. Instead of selling me a new Godox V1 flash, he says I just need this 25.00 hot shoe repair kit. It was an quick fix, only 4 easy to get to screws and a wire to plug in.
I’ve bought from big box companies that has stuff a couple dollars cheaper, but I never had the ability to dm the owner first with my exact situation. Shopping from Tim solved my problem and saved me money! That’s the kind of service I like.
