I’ve got something a little different today. This Tennessee Backyard Wedding happened in the rain!
The weather started off sunny with a few clouds. Just as it was about to be “ceremony thirty” the clouds came in and let loose scattered rain drops. Guests retreated to the porch to wait it out. The rain let up and Elizabeth decided to just continue as planned, rain or not! It was beautiful!!
Colton watched Elizabeth walk down the aisle as claps of thunder sounded in the distance and a steady drizzle came down. They said their vows with rising fog and mountains as their backdrop!
Colton and Elizabeth, I have loved getting to know you, your families and your friends.
I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to be a part of your day!!! I hope you enjoy reliving your day through your blog post! It was such an honor to be trusted as your photographer!

With the surprise thunder storms that came through, the sparklers ended up getting wet. Elizabeth’s mom appeared with Plan B, Bubbles! These weren’t any old bubbles, these were the good bubbles! The kind that work really well for everyone. The grass was still a little damp and that helped the bubbles just sit there on the ground without popping. I really like bubbles for exits when there’s still daylight. They make great photos and there’s no clean up afterwards.
Afterwards we went out for some bonus evening/night photos.
For this photo I wanted to use this driveway. I liked the way the light was, I thought there was a good photo here. I asked, Do you know these people? Are they friends, do you think they’d mind if we go up here for a photo?
They laughed and said it was family and perfectly fine.
We ended the night with my favorite photo of the day. Just look at these two!
Nerdy camera settings for this photos: 1/160 sec, f/4.0, ISO-2000. OCF behind them at 1/8th power and on- camera flash at about 1/64th power.
