Why Capcut Pro
Caput is my go-to for editing social media videos. Sometimes I’ll use Tiktok’s native video editor, sometimes Instagram’s native-they call it Edits now. But most of the time I like to use capcut pro and here’s why:

Stabilization
I love this for the shaky video that I want to stabilize after the fact. Sometimes I’m not the greatest with my phone and I love having the option to reduce the shake some.
Retouch
This is the total excuse remover! I know, I know, you don’t want to make videos but you know you need to. …your hair isn’t having a good today, your face doesn’t look the way you wish it did, you look tired, too busy to put makeup on, can’t put lashes on without glases on, can’t put lashes on with glasses on…. I get it.

Before and After with Capcut Pro
Yesterday we had a power outage – no water, I didn’t get a shower, my hair had been rained on, it was the end of the day and all natural lighting was gone…
I still recorded a video on my phone using my computer monitor for fill lighting on my face. It was bad. I looked tired. But I have capcut pro, so I don’t have any excuses. I cut out my talking head with the remove background option and then added one of the makeup options. I back it down to 25%. 100% was waaaay too much for me. It zhuzhed things up enough that I was able to make the video.
Auto subtitles
You’ve seen them. You can read video subtitles when the sound is off. They’re just a nice option to have. With a click of a button they’re automatically created. Now I will say you need to double check them, and correct here and there.
Filler word remover
This feature will run through all your audio and give you the option to remove ums and uhhs. Pretty cool! I will say this doesn’t always work as the cuts can be awkward sometimes. It’s still a great tool and a little B-roll can beautifully bridge the cut.
Remove background
This is a feature I love for overlaying on a video.
White balance
Adjusting white balance is one of the most basic things you can do to improve a phone video. white shirts and white wedding dresses shouldn’t be blue nor should they be yellow if they’re not.
HSL
This is where you have options to go in to edit individual color tones. For example grass. No venue intentionally grows yellow grass. so going in to the greens and yellows can improve the grass quite a bit in your videos.

You can do a lot in the native app editors and they are free. However, Capcut pro has both mobile and desktop and of course, the “Excuse Remover”; the Retouching for videos is hard to beat!
