Best fall foliage color near Knoxville

I was asked What dates do you think would be best to where the leaves will be changed near Knoxville?
I was just noticing a few leaves beginning to turn already! Least year we caught the last of great fall foliage colors at Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains on October 25th.
So generally speaking and not knowing if foliage will be earlier or later this year I’d say last two weeks of October should offer fantastic options for anywhere thats at whatever mountain-ish elevation that Cade’s Cove is at. And then beginning of November at the lowest elevations are great, like at river elevation.

I lean towards scheduling engagement and family photos in October because 1, if weather does not cooperate, like rain. There’s still time to find an alternate date and still plenty of fall foliage color possibilities. 2, if fall foliage color does come early we can find gorgeous fall colors locations in the lower elevations down by lakes and rivers.  3, before daylight savings time starts or ends, however you count that. Somehow there is more time in the evenings.

Here is the fall color prediction map! I’d love to know if it helps you as you make your viewing and photo plans for the best fall foliage color near Knoxville!
